WhatsApp Just announced the new Feature to edit send message with a 15 minute time limit

Today’s World-wide breaking news, WhatsApp unveils long time awaited feature to edit send message. WhatsApp has officially added the highly looked for feature. In addition, the feature allows users to edit text send for up to 15 minutes after hitting send.

Previously, users had to either delete the whole send message or resend a message with a correction. And, last year the app upgraded the time limit from 48 hours to 60 hours.

Further, users who are prone to chatting and texting, the feature acts as fruitful for them. Furthermore, this feature comes in handy for a variety of purposes.

Moreover, the feature is a replicating feature offered by other messaging apps like Telegram and Signal. Similarly, Apple also introduced the edit messages sent via iMessage in iOS 16.

Mark Zuckerberg noted in a Facebook post that users can now modify a message within 15 minutes of sending the message. If you want to do so, you can long press on a message, and tap on the edit option to alter the message.

How to Edit the Send Message

Further, the edited messages will have an “edited” tag next to the time stamp to mark the change. However, the app won’t maintain any correction history. Besides, other users won’t be able to see the previous versions of edited messages.

“We’re excited that you’ll now have more control over your chats, such as correcting misspellings or adding more contexts to a message. For this, within 15 minutes of sending the message, you have to tap and hold that message for a while and then select the option of ‘Edit’ from the menu,” the company said in a blog post.

While, the message has been edited, WhatsApp will show “edited” alongside of the texts. The company claims to be fair to both the parties involved in chat. However, WhatsApp will not show the edit history to the same. Further, the edited messages alongside all media and calls on the app are end to end encrypted.

Finally, the feature has been rolled out to users and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.

The feature is available on the latest versions of iOS and Android smartphones. Likewise, the feature can also be used on the web client.
