Nothing Phone 1 Android 13 with Nothing OS 1.5 beta update
Nothing’s, first smartphone Phone(1) was launched on 23 March 2022. Nothing is now ready to kick start the Nothing OS 1.5 beta update program for the Phone 1. This will allow users to access the new version of the software based on Android 13 ahead of public release.

The beta program has gone live since the company started recruiting beta aspirants through its community forums.
The first beta build is already selecting users who signed up for the program.
The initial beta release of Android 13 for the Nothing Phone 1 weighs around 1.15GB in size. Further, Nothing OS 1.5 comes with a plethora of UI enhancements in areas like volume control and the quick settings toggles. Furthermore, the company also configures a brand new weather app.
Classifications of OS 1.5
It has new weather app with custom Nothing UI. The OS comes with Up to 50% increase in app loading speed. Moreover, it has more color schemes available for matching third party apps to wallpaper. Also, it supports multi-language support that allows different languages for different apps.
Privacy upgrades, Including:
Photo picker: You can choose which images you want to share with each app.
Notification permissions: You can control which apps can send you notifications.
Media permissions: Group the types of media you want to share e.g., photos and videos, music and audio files.
New QR code scanner: You can access QR code scanner in Quick Settings.
Clipboard preview: The copied text appears on clipboard in the bottom corner of the screen. So you can directly edit the text before pasting.
Foreground services: You can close active background apps directly from the notification center to save battery.
Live caption: It detects speech on your device and automatically generates captions.
Increased background memory: It reduces the loading time for frequently used apps.
New self-repair feature that keeps Phone (1) running like it’s new: It keeps phone updated by clearing unused cache and expired system dumps.
Improved Quick Settings: Featuring new network and Bluetooth device pop-ups.
New UI for volume control: You can easily adjust individual volume sliders without unlocking the screen (e.g. music or alarm).
Improved Game Mode: It has new UI for light notifications and added Google Game Dashboard. Dashboard supports screenshots, screen recording, FPS display and Do Not Disturb.

CEO Carl Pei stated:
“While Android 13 Open Beta is gradually being rolled out in our existing markets, we will be extending it to the US market via a testing program with access to Phone (1). Would love to get feedback from our community there.”
