MG Comet EV Unveiled In India – know more about this electric car Design, Features
MG Motors India has discovered the MG Comet EV in India. The MG Comet electric car is a compact and eco-friendly vehicle that can handle the busy streets of India.
This city-friendly EV will compete against the likes of the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3.
The MG Comet EV gets a unique three-door layout and a tall boy design that aims to maximise usable space on offer without having a large footprint.
The company has just showcased the vehicle for now and will announce the complete specifications and price in India, later when it launches. As per reports, the EV boasts of a claimed range of about 230 km on a single charge.
MG Comet EV announced in India
The MG Comet EV will be the company’s second EV for India after its MG ZS EV electric crossover vehicle. The MG Comet electric car will be offered in one fully loaded variant.
The vehicle has also been spotted covered in camouflage on public roads ahead of its official launch. As per sources, the company will roll out the EV for media viewing and testing in the coming weeks.
The MG Comet EV gets a compact footprint in a three-door format and is squarely aimed at city dwellers looking for a daily runabout. The tall boy design is likely to open up ample space on the inside.
As per the company’s official showcase, MG Comet EV will be available in bright and poppy colours that include a Lime Green shade. The EV maker could also offer customisation options via skins and wraps.
Design
While, the feature set and specifications have not been confirmed, it can be observed that the MG Comet EV will get LED lighting, aerodynamic wheel caps, a dual-tone roof, and a parking camera.
It has a quadricycle-like design with upscale characteristics such as split headlights, LED elements across the width of the car, dazzling alloy wheels, a tall C-Pillar, and a dual-tone paint job. The carmaker has added soft-touch fabric-like material to the dashboard and door panels to make the cabin feel upmarket.
MG Comet EV expected specifications
While, the MG Comet EV is expected to get an electric motor that generates 41bhp of peak power and 110Nm of peak torque.
Moreover, this will be paired with a 17.3kWh battery pack that will deliver a claimed range of 230km.
Apart from this, the EV can be charged from zero to 100 percent in about seven hours via the supplied 3.3kW charger.
The dimensions of the MG Comet EV measure 2,974mm in length, 1,505mm in width, and 1,640mm in height, while the wheelbase stands at 2,010mm.
Furthermore, the car is equipped with rotary gear knob.
More to it, the MG Comet EV will get a dual connected screen. One for the infotainment and other for the instrument panel.
According to leaks and earlier reports, the vehicle will be equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay.
Besides, the car is equipped with steering-mounted controls, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs.
In addition, the vehicle is expected to have tilted adjustable steering, power windows. Further, it has a space grey interior theme, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 50:50 split rear seat.
Moreover, the MG Comet EV has dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a seat-belt reminder system. Also, a speed alert system, a reverse parking camera, speed-sensing door lock function, and impact sensing auto door-unlock function.
Availability and Price
The MG Comet EV will be launched in India soon. As per reports, it will be priced below Rs 10 lakh for the base variant.
