WhatsApp rolls out new feature for users to control videos by using forward a video or rewind it using skip video feature.
Videos on WhatsApp can now support Forward a video feature
WhatsApp new feature
Meta-owned messaging application, has announced a latest innovation for their users. Further, the new feature supports forward and rewind option in videos. According to Wabetainfo, “With the new video skip feature, users can now easily navigate within videos they receive or send. This means you can now skip forward to get to the most crucial part of a video or rewind to rewatch something you might have missed without using the progress bar.”
New Video Skip Feature
To retain the interest of users in videos, the app has included “skip forward and backward” option. Moreover, the feature has been introduced in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.6. In addition, the feature is compatible with two more versions, 2.23.24.4 and 2.23.24.5.
How to operate?
The feature operates similar to video navigation on YouTube. Besides, to operate it users need to double tap on the left or right side of the screen to skip forward or rewind within videos.
How the feature is different?
The feature is in-built and users don’t need to redirect to another app to play videos. Further, users can play videos directly from the app. Furthermore, tapping on the video can simply show you the current progress of it and hence users can forward or rewind as per requirement.
Enhanced Video Navigation
The new feature not only saves time but also enhances content navigation. Further, users can easily switch for a particular clip or moment simply by fast forwarding.
Gradual Rollout
As of now, the ability to skip forward and backward in videos is accessible to a select group of beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for Android updates via the Google Play Store. However, this feature is expected to be made available to a wider audience in the coming weeks.
