However, sometimes finding a specific message or chat can be challenging, especially if you have a lot of conversations going on.
Besides, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for iOS beta users that allows them to search chats by date. This feature can help you quickly locate a chat or message that you sent or received on a certain date, without having to scroll through your entire chat history.
The new feature allows users to easily jump to a certain date within a conversation, reports WABetaInfo.
Latest WhatsApp beta
Accordingly, some beta testers can use this feature in their chats and groups, with the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.24.0.77 update.
However, users need to update their WhatsApp account. Further, they need to use the search feature in a conversation. As to check if new feature has been added to their account.
Moreover, to be more precise check for the calendar icon. If it shows up in your Whatsapp then it means that this feature is enabled on your Whatsapp. However, for others they may have to wait for coming weeks.
Earlier this week, the messaging platform had launched the ‘forward media with caption’ feature on iOS, which provides users the ability to forward images, videos, GIFs and documents, with a caption.
In this feature after downloading the updated version of WhatsApp for iOS 22.23.77 from the App Store, users were able to send images with a caption. However if someone don’t want to write the caption they can simply click on the dismiss button provided to remove the caption from the image.
How to use the new feature
To use the new feature, you need to be a beta tester for WhatsApp on iOS. You can join the beta program by following the instructions here. Once you have the latest beta version of WhatsApp installed on your iPhone, you can follow these steps to search chats by date:
Open WhatsApp and tap on the search icon at the top right corner of the screen.
Enter a keyword or phrase that you want to search for in your chats.
Swipe down on the keyboard to reveal a calendar icon at the top left corner of the screen.
Tap on the calendar icon and select a date from the calendar that pops up.
You will see a list of chats that contain your keyword or phrase on that date. You can tap on any chat to open it and see the matching messages highlighted in yellow.
