The Reddit app new feature allows users to search for any particular keywords and instead of looking for posts like they normally would, they can simply check out images, GIFs, and videos.

It is an American social news aggregation, content rating, and discussion website. Registered users, commonly referred to as “redditors”, submit content to the site such as links, text posts, images, and videos, which are then voted up or down by other members.
The Reddit app has several features that make it lively and interactive:
Voting and Comment Count Animations: Votes on content are now non-static numbers in feeds and on posts, and animate as the vote counts go up or down in real-time. Similarly, comment count animations receive the same treatment in feeds and on posts; going up as more comments on posts are shared in real-time.
Typing and Reading Indicators: New typing indicators show when two or more redditors are typing to comment within posts. Typing redditors are shown via anonymized avatars near comment windows. In a similar fashion, reading indicators note when five or more redditors are reading a post by displaying grouped anonymous avatars in a pill at the top of comment sections in posts.
New Comment Pill: Redditors will now be able to see when new comments are being submitted (when they are viewing a post). When a redditor clicks on the new comment indicator, the comments will sort by new and highlight live comments in real-time.
These features are available across Reddit – on desktop, iOS, and android. Further, redditors can look in their favorite subreddits, on their home feeds, and engage with communities. The vote and comment count animations are optional for redditors, and can be turned off under user animation settings.
The New Feature
The new feature allows users to search for any particular keywords. Further, the new feature enhances user’s access as they can simply check out images, GIFs, and videos. Furthermore, the new feature does not segregate between the three.
This feature is only available on the native mobile apps of Reddit. Notably the feature is not available on the website. However, the app is working on adding the feature for the web version too.
How to Access the Feature
To access the feature, simply go to the search tool. Further, you need to tap on the big magnifying glass icon on the top of the app. Furthermore, search for anything you want, like a funny meme, a picture of a cat, or a video.
Apparently, below the search bar, there are numerous categories such as Posts, Comments, Communities and more. Besides, on the far left side, a new tab has been added called Media. Tap here to see the new image-only search results.
This new feature makes searching for images much easier than before. User’s can now search from memes to wallpapers and artwork. Henceforth, no matter what kind of images you want to search, it is now going to be a piece of cake with this new search feature.
