Recently, Windows 11 updated Microsoft paint app by introducing background removal tool. Similar to Adobe Photoshop, the tool allow users to remove background from images effortlessly with just a single click.
Further, background removal tool can detect the subject from the entire canvas. In addition, the image to be edited can be selected using the selection tool.

The background removal tool can remove the background of any image in just one click leaving a smooth cutout of the subject.
How to get started with this tool
In order to take advantage of this tool for background removal, follow the steps:
Update Your Paint version:
First, you need to ensure you have the latest version of the Paint app. Go to the Microsoft Store and update the Windows 11 Paint app to version 11.2306.30.
Open Paint App:
Next, launch the paint app and open the image you want to edit in a blank Canvas.
Access Background removal tool:
Search for the “image” section to the top-left of the image. Further, locate and select the “background remove button.”
Remove Background:
Furthermore, clicking this button will instantly remove the entire background from the image. Additionally, you are left with only the subject you selected.
Selective Removal:
Moreover, you can also use the rectangle select tool to specify the area from which you want to remove the background.
Availability
Currently, the tool is exclusively available only to Windows insiders in the Canary and Dev channels. As per reports, the tech giant has not provided any specific timeline of when this feature will be rolled out to all the Windows 11 users. However, as per company guidelines, the feature will be available to all after few weeks of testing.
