The Meta owned platform keeps updated by changing technology and applications. Unlike, every year Whatsapp support announced that this year too it will stop working on certain smartphones.

Whatsapp a well-known messaging platform, every week come up with app updates and user interfaces to fix bugs and errors. However, Whatsapp rolls out updates to support latest system softwares and operating systems. Hence, whatsapp every year discontinues its services with older version of operating system to focus on new updates.

Moreover, this year too the platform is all set to end its support for some older smartphones running on out dated operating systems, including Android and iPhones models, after December 31.

“To keep up with the latest advances in technology, we routinely stop supporting older operating systems to point our resources to supporting the latest ones. If we stop supporting your operating system, you’ll be notified and reminded a few times to upgrade your device to continue using WhatsApp”, cites WhatsApp on its blog.

Further, as per a report by GizChina, the instant messaging app will be ending support for around 49 smartphones across brands. Finally, the list includes some smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Huawei, LG and so on.

Here is the list of Apple and Android smartphones which will no longer support WhatsApp app from January 1, 2023.

What to do if WhatApp stops support on your smartphone

Notably, most of the smartphones in the list are already old models and rarely people use them. However, if you still have one of these phones, then you should think of an upgrade.
