YouTube Shorts
YouTube Shorts is a new feature on YouTube that allows users to create and watch short, vertical videos that are 60 seconds or less in length. Further, these videos can be enhanced with features such as video segmenting, app-based recording, and musical overlays. If your Short uses music from the YouTube catalog, your Short will be limited to 15-seconds only.
Furthermore, YouTube Shorts is a way for anyone to connect with a new audience using just a smartphone and the Shorts camera in the YouTube app. YouTube’s Shorts creation tools make it easy to create short-form videos that are up to 60 seconds long with their multi-segment camera. Moreover, you can upload vertical videos saved to your computer or smartphone as Shorts or record a Short from the YouTube app.
You can enhance your Shorts with various creative features in the YouTube app, such as adding music from major labels, animated text, controlling the speed of your footage, and editing together multiple 15-second video clips. Viewers of your Shorts can share, comment, like, dislike, or subscribe to your channel while viewing the video.

Collab: Remix and Collaboration
The live streaming platform introduces collab, a tool for recording simultaneous videos and shorts at the same time. Further, the users with multiple layout options can use split screen format.
Furthermore, the feature incorporates remix tool like Green Screen which uses YouTube or short video as a background. Moreover, the Cut feature is capable of slitting a five-second clip of video or short and remix into each other.
Apart from this, the feature will be available to all the iOS creators followed by Android.

For live creators, YouTube is testing the new feature of inserting live videos into shorts feed. In addition, viewers in the test group will see previews of the live videos mixed in with other Shorts as they scroll.
However, if they tap to watch a live video, then they will be placed into a shorts feed of just live videos, as on TikTok. Apart from this, other features like Snapchat, Super-Stickers and channel membership will also be available to creators.

For those who really like the shorts, they can simply save them as playlists. Moreover, creators can use this feature for saving creative ideas as playlists for future use.
As per company analysis, more than 2 billion logged-in users view Shorts each month. Additionally, company is planning to expand its structure for creators in a more creative way.
